The Sherline Suspended Hydraulic Scale is intended to be used to help you determine approximate weights for use in loading vehicles or trailers. It can also be helpful in any job where placing an item on a scale is not practical. It can be suspended from a block and tackle lift, A-frame, forklift blade, helicopter or crane. It can also be used horizontally to test pulling force on a cable.

Knowing the weight of heavy items loaded into a truck or trailer is of extreme importance for purposes of both avoiding overloading and achieving proper load balance for safe driving. It is always better to KNOW the weight you are hauling rather than guessing. A bad guess can be dangerous, expensive or both, yet when offered a choice of buying an $800 scale or making a guess, many chose to make a guess. The Sherline scale now offers a way to get a good approximate figure without spending a lot of money.

Usable Accuracy at an Affordable Price

The Sherline scale was designed to provide reasonable accuracy at an affordable price. The gauge is rated to be accurate to within 2% of the overall range of the gauge at a mid-range reading. At high or low scale readings, the accuracy is 3%. In most cases this is close enough to assure you are within the safe range of your loading parameters. The Sherline scale is not to be used for trade purposes (items sold by weight). It is strictly for obtaining approximate figures for loading heavy items and for estimating purposes, and in that context, it is an excellent choice for the money.
