With 2200 watts of power, this is Festool's most largest and most powerful router - capable of plunging into 8/4 hard maple and routing a 1/2in groove in one pass. Its exceptional ergonomics and thoughtful design make working with this beast incredibly smooth and intuitive - a joy to use!

For heavy routing operations, it's the clear choice and its extensive list of features and range of available accessories make it versatile and easy to control.

Magnetic spindle lock

Change bits faster than ever with the magnetic spindle lock. Simply press one side of the spindle lock rocker and swing the single wrench back and forth until the collet is tightened or loosened. The magnetic force is more reliable and provides a longer motor service life as compared to using a mechanical or electronic method.

Micro-adjustable depth control with three adjustable turrets
Precisely set the plunge depth quickly and effortlessly with the micro-adjust depth stop wheel graduated in 1/10 mm (1/256 or 0.0039 inch) increments. Each of the three posts on the turret is also individually adjustable. The router plunges up to 80 mm (3-5/32 inches), and allows the collet to pass through the baseplate by 10 mm (3/8 inch) to facilitate bit changes, or get more cut depth when using templates or sub-bases.

An innovative Locking Depth Stop Rod allows the motor to be locked to the base and so the depth of the bit can be adjusted in .1 mm (1/256 inch) increments for the ultimate precision - no more adjusting the plunge stop and plunging the router to check the depth setting.

Ergonomic design and intuitive controls
The comfortable handles are oriented at an angle, so you naturally push the router forward and against the edge guide or bearing for effortlessly flawless cuts. The on/off trigger, lock-on button, and speed control are all at your fingertips so you don't ever need to take your hands off the handles to operate the machine.

MMC Electronics enhance safety and control
The tool starts up smoothly, eliminating jolting and voltage spikes. Adjust the speed infinitely within the speed range to suit the material and application, and know that the pre-selected speed will remain constant even when load is applied. Built-in temperature control prevents overheating by switching the tool off when critical temperature is reached in order to prolong its lifespan.

Dust collection attachments
The large diameter, clear retractable dust collar slides up for bit changes and drops down to contain dust and allow extraction through the column. The port at the top connects to either a D27 or D36 mm hose (36 mm hose recommended for best dust extraction). For edge-forming operations, the chip catcher can be clipped into the base to help contain and capture the chips instead of spraying them.

Triple bearing design
Three bearings on the spindle at top, middle and bottom keep deflection to an absolute minimum, reducing wobble and providing cleaner, more precise cuts with even the largest diameter bits.

Compatible 1/4 inch, 8 mm, and 1/2 inch collets
A 1/2 inch collet is included, and 8 mm and 1/4 inch collets are also available to make this router compatible with the widest range of router bits.
