Dimar's Tapered Drill bits are used to create tapered pilot holes perfectly fitting the screw thread and screw shank. The hole in the first piece of wood is drilled large enough to accommodate the screw shank. In the second piece of wood, the hole is perfectly tapered to fit the screw thread. Highly recommended for wood screws, especially in hardwoods.
