Product Details:

This 3-piece set of Messerschmidt Timber Tool chisels is crafted from tough, hardened high-carbon steel and features straight cutting edges with ash wood handles reinforced by ferrules. It includes three chisels (1", 1½", and 2") packaged in a wooden storage box.

MHG Timber Tools are designed for professional carpentry, especially in log and timber frame construction. They offer excellent edge retention, flexibility, and long-lasting durability. Thanks to advanced heat treatment and a highly refined microstructure in the alloy steel, these tools achieve performance levels typically found only in traditional hand-forged chisels.

They are well suited for fine finishing work such as shaping dovetail joints in ceiling beams and refining saddle joints.

Features:

  • Ergonomic ash wood handles for a comfortable, controlled grip
  • Metal ferrules (Zwinge) to reinforce the handle and prevent splitting
  • Straight cutting edges for precise, clean timber cuts
  • Overall length: 18" (450 mm)
  • Blade length: 7" (320 mm)
  • Blade widths: 1" (25 mm), 1½" (38 mm), 2" (50 mm)
  • Material: High carbon steel, 61 HRC hardness
